Do you sell 'dripless' candles?
It's virtually impossible to guarantee a dripless candle. How much a candle drips is primarily down to the quality of manufacture - the best candles will certainly drip less. Draughts in the room are also a factor: try as much as possible to keep your candles away from air-con units and ceiling fans and use a hurricane glass of some sort for even better protection.
Do your candle wicks contain lead?
No, they are cotton wicks produced in Europe and are 100% lead free.
What are your candles made of?
We strive to source only high quality candles from Europe of either refined paraffin or wax derived from plants (stearin). Our candles will contain either one or a mix of both.
Where do your candles come from?
All of our candles are sourced in Scandinavia and manufactured in Europe, if not stated otherwise.
How do I reduce candle smoking?
Always trim wicks to 1cm before burning and remove debris to help reduce smoke. You should also make sure the candle is not oxygen-starved and never burn candles in a draught.
Will my ceiling/wall get black stains?
Although uncommon, to avoid black stains you must also ensure there is a gap of at least 60cm above the candle and position it well away from flammable materials.
How can I prevent my pillar candle from tunnelling?
When you burn your candle for the first time, make sure it burns long enough to reach the rim of the candle. A general rule of thumb is to always burn your pillar candles for 1 hour per 2.5cm of diameter each time you light them.
What is a candle's average burn time?
Burn time is affected by wax type, wick size and type, the actual insertion of the wick and burn environment (draughts will significantly reduce the burn time).
How long will your tea lights burn for and will the plastic container melt?
Our regular size tea lights burn for about 4 hours and the larger ones for 10 hours. The casing is made from non-burning material - a special mixed polycarbonate with a very high flame and melt level.
Can all candles be used outdoors?
Outdoor candles are generally designed for that use, with larger wicks to combat draughts and draw more fuel. Indoor candles work best outside if you place them in a hurricane glass for protection.
Can I come to Scandic Wonders for a re-fill when my scented candle in a glass has burned down?
After cleaning your glass/container, you can re-use it by purchasing any of our tea lights (scented or un-scented).
Can I leave a metal lantern outside?
Singapore has a very humid climate which, unfortunately, is harsh on most metal surfaces. It is, therefore, advisable to keep your lanterns inside when not in use. To enable you to keep your stainless steel lanterns looking as good as new, we sell bottles of shine to buff up the surfaces in the store.

Are you open every day?
Yes we are open from 10am – 9pm every day except for a few days at Christmas and Chinese New Year. We will make sure we inform you well in advance of any days that we are closed.
Do you have another shop/outlet?
Not at the moment, let’s see what the future will bring…
Why can't I buy items directly from your website?
Because we don’t have a warehouse, we stock most products in reasonably small quantities - consequently it’s not possible to provide an online shopping facility at the moment. In the meantime, we would love for you to have fun exploring our new website and finding out more about Scandic Wonders.
I am planning a party/wedding - is it possible to buy candles or accessories from you in bulk?
We will try our best to accommodate you but, as Scandic Wonders does not have a warehouse, most products are stocked in reasonably small quantities. However, please do get in touch and we will do everything we can to help you.
Do you have a loyalty program?
We certainly do – we have a lot of repeat customers and we like to reward them for their loyalty. For every $50.00 spent in 1 receipt you will receive 1 stamp, $100.00 will give you 2 stamps and so on. Once you have a completed card of 10 stamps you are entitled to use the card as a $50.00 gift voucher.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes, we sell $50 gift vouchers which are valid for 1 year after the date of issue.
Do you offer a gift-wrapping service?
Yes, we will be delighted to wrap your gift for you, free of charge.
When does the Christmas stock arrive in store?
Christmas begins early at Scandic Wonders! The Christmas products will be on the shelves no later than 1st November each year.
